New HVAC System Installation
Purchasing and installing a new HVAC system is a costly process so you always want to hire a professional to guide you through it from the beginning till the end. The first step, however, is to determine if you really need a new heating and cooling system. Our technicians at Swift Services always perform several tests to make sure the system needs to be replaced, such as checking thermostat settings, the condition of air filters, circuit breakers, condensing unit, ac drain pan and more. A professional HVAC contractor will know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, if the system needs replacement and will be able to describe in details what makes the unit to be beyond saving.
Once it is determined a new HVAC system is necessary it is time to decide on a brand. Believe it or not, the brand of an air conditioning unit makes a big difference in the quality of its performance. At the same time, there are less expensive brands which are very reliable and efficient as well as expensive brands which are sometimes not worth the high price ticket. A professional HVAC contractor will describe all the options and, depending on your needs and your budget, choose the best solution for your home or office.
One of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a new HVAC unit is the size of your home. Air conditioning units come in various sizes which are measured in "tons". Ton, in this case, does not describe the weight, it refers to the unit's ability to cool and heat your home. For example, if a house is anywhere between 2,000 and 3,000 square feet it requires a 5-ton HVAC unit. Our experts in air conditioning services in Myrtle Beach always advise our customers to get the air conditioner with the right amount of tons for their home, no more no less. No need to overpay for a higher ton appliance since it would lower the efficiency of the HVAC system.
Another factor to consider when installing a new HVAC unit is its SEER value. SEER is a measure of a unit's efficiency. The higher the SEER value the more expensive the appliance. At the same time, high SEER value units cost less to operate, so eventually you get your money back on the investment. Most SEER-16 HVAC appliances are considered to be very efficient for the majority of households. There are SEER-21 air conditioners but they are more expensive and won't really increase the energy efficiency of your system unless you live in some extreme climate area such as a desert.
Our technicians in air conditioning services in Myrtle Beach will not only install a new HVAC unit but also make sure the rest of the system operates at its highest efficiency. It means we check to make sure ductwork in the house is in good shape and will be able to handle the new air conditioner. We also take a look at the insulation in the attic and/or crawlspace. We want to make sure the new HVAC system will run at its highest efficiency and our customers will be fully satisfied with their investment.
Installing a new heating and cooling system takes a team of experts and we encourage any homeowner to do extensive research when choosing a contractor. In your research, pay attention if a company you're interested in does any commercial work. HVAC professionals who work with commercial clients have a lot of experience and knowledge concerning every aspect of their trade.
Some of the HVAC services, such as installing a new air conditioner, are quite expensive so it is always a good idea to shop around for high quality and affordable solutions. Many reputable companies run promotions and offer significant discounts. At Swift Services Heating, Cooling & Electrical our costumers are our priority so we regularly offer a variety of promotions on our products and services.
